Description

Discover and experience the most charming spots along the coasts of the Salentine Peninsula, aboard a comfortable van that will take you from coastal villages on the east coast to the most important one of west coast. This self-guided tour includes stops of approximately one hour in the most significant towns, and about 20 minutes at scenic viewpoints to admire the breathtaking panoramas. A journey through villages and natural landscapes, offering you a unique day of discovery. You will visit Otranto, a melting pot of civilizations and the easternmost town in Italy, rich in millennia of history; Cape Palacia, with its unique beauty, where rocks shaped by the power of the wind create an untouched atmosphere; and Santa Cesaria Terme, a seaside village known for its eclectic architecture. The exploration continues towards Castro, the ancient fortified town perched on a cliff, with pre-Roman roots and a fascinating history. After a lunch break arranged with your driver, the tour along the coastal road continues with two more stops: the harbor of Ciolo, with its bridge spanning the cliffs, and, to conclude the east coast, the Cape of Leuca, the “”Finibus Terrae,”” the end of the Earth. After this rich exploration of the Adriatic coast, you’ll reach Gallipoli, the pearl of the Ionian Sea, a historic city centre located on an island that, for centuries, was the capital of olive oil export in the Mediterranean.
